From a recent commission
This piece was a surprise 40th anniversary present from a wife to her husband. It includes paintings of their family and pets from throughout their marriage, the places they have lived, and nods to their hobbies and careers.
How this piece came together
The client sent us their original ketubah, and together we planned a surprise redesign for their 40th anniversary.
We hand-painted a watercolour border with a cut-out window so their original ketubah text could sit at the centre, surrounded by the story of their marriage.
Their original ketubah text was mounted into the new design in a non-permanent way — preserving the heirloom while creating a piece they were proud to hang on the wall.
